About NETA

The Northeast Everglades Trails Association (NETA) is a nonprofit organization working on behalf of all trail interests, including hikers, bicycle riders, horseback riders, water trails, and other passive trail users. Our goal is to support trails by finding common ground and promoting cooperation among all trail interests. We support local, regional and long-distance trails and greenways, whether they are in backcountry, rural or urban areas. We work in partnership with government agencies, local businesses and other nonprofit groups to create and protect a network of interconnected trails throughout the Northeast Everglades region.

What we do...

Get people on trails! We have hikes, off-road bicycle rides, horseback rides and trail activities throughout the year, including the Annual Ocean To Lake Greenway Celebration – an exciting shared-use trail experience. Trail events occur year-round.

Build partnerships with our land managers! Our public lands are managed by skilled professionals and we provide input and volunteer help to create engaging recreational opportunities. We assist our government partners by helping to establish and maintain trails.

Educate the public!
